This week’s Positive Monday is about giving your eyes and mind a quick

break during a busy day.

Look into the distance.

Why It Works

When you spend a long time looking at a computer screen, phone, paperwork,

or anything else close to you, your eyes rarely get a chance to change their focus.

Looking into the distance for a few moments gives your eyes a welcome
break.

It also encourages you to pause, lift your head, relax your shoulders,
and briefly disconnect from whatever has been demanding your attention.

What This Looks Like in Real Life

You could:

• Look out a window at the furthest object you can see
• Step outside and look towards the horizon
• Watch the clouds for a few moments
• Look at a distant tree, building, or hill
• Let your eyes wander around a large open space

You do not need to study anything.

Simply allow your eyes to focus on something further away.

Action Exercise

Today, step away from your screen and look into the distance for 20 seconds.

While you are looking, relax your shoulders and take one slow breath.

Then return to what you were doing and notice whether your eyes, mind,
and body feel a little more refreshed.
